HubSpot Website Migration Checklist

HubSpot Website Migration Checklist

Migrating to HubSpot website can seem like a daunting task. However, making the switch is easier than ever before thanks to HubSpot’s advanced website onboarding. During this process, you’ll have the opportunity to fix problems with your previous website. You’ll also learn more about your customers and be able to implement what you learn to increase your sales and conversions.

Migration to a HubSpot website isn’t difficult, but there are a few things that must be done to ensure a successful migration. The following HubSpot migration checklist can help.

Map User Experience

Before building your HubSpot website, it’s important to have a clear understanding of your intended audience. This includes what they do and do not like about your current website. This will help you create buyer personas for the different groups of people visiting your site.

Understanding your target audience can go a long way towards increasing your sales. Knowing what your audience needs to take the next step is crucial to success.

Your website should show your visitors why they should choose your company over your competitors. This message should be clear on every page of your website. A properly designed website provides a smooth transition through the sales funnel.

Build Your Templates

Once you know what you want to say and how you want to say it, it’s time to start building your website. If desired, this can be an exact copy of your existing site with the changes you identified in the first step. Or it can be something totally different. It all depends on what you think will work best and how much time you want to spend creating it.

In HubSpot’s Design Manager, you’ll want to “Enable Web Pages”. This will give you access to the template builder where you can create the individual pages of your website. You’ll need to decide whether each page will have a different template, or if they’ll all use the same one. At this point, you’ll need to decide if you’d like to replicate your previous website or design something completely original.

Create Your Web Pages

Creating your web pages is one of the most important steps of migration. These are the pages that visitors will see. Although you might require more depending on the needs of your customers, you’ll want to make sure to include a home page, an about us page, and a contact page. You also need to have some information about the products and/or services you offer. Each page should explain what sets your company apart.

Only you will see the contents of your website until it’s fully migrated. This is the time to experiment and try new things. Just make sure that you follow the guidelines you determined in step one.

The Content Specialist will populate images, headers, text, Smart Content, and CTA to each page. You will need to preview your pages in the Web Pages panel before moving to the next step.

Website Migration

Once you are fully satisfied with the pages you’ve created, it’s time to migrate your website. Follow HubSpot’s rules to edit your DNS record and move your website to HubSpot. This doesn’t usually take long, and once it’s complete, you’ll have a fully migrated website.

Special Considerations

Keep in mind that only websites that are live on the Internet can be migrated to HubSpot. This means that HubSpot cannot migrate an image mock-up of a website. You need to have an actual website that visitors can access.

HubSpot can be used to monitor and track visitors, leads, and conversions. You will want to make sure that the platform is able to collect the proper information. Make sure that you filter out your own traffic in order to get the most out of HubSpot’s analytics.

Once developed, a HubSpot website begins tracking information immediately. HubSpot offers a number of tools designed to help increase traffic, leads, and conversions. You need to take advantage of all of the tools offered by HubSpot if you want to get the most out of this powerful marketing platform.

When properly implemented, HubSpot provides the tools needed for success. This helps you grow your business and allows you to provide a higher level of customer service.
